Aladzha Monastery is situated 2 km away from the seaside resort of Golden Sands and 10 km north of Varna.

Currently Aladzha Monastery is not functioning as a monastery – there are no monks. It has been declared a monument of culture and a museum. As a result of collapses and landslides the current monastery looks differently from the original one. Nowadays the remains of 20 premises and 3 churches can be seen, located on two levels and interconnected by stairs carved into the rocks.
